Sam Baron is a researcher and policy analyst with extensive professional experience working at the nexus of human rights and trade policy at the international, regional, and local levels. Throughout his career, he has held policy-focused roles working on Japan and the ASEAN region for organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The Asia Group, and U.S. State Department, and maintains affiliations with a number of research institutions focused on the Indo-Pacific region.
